College Coaching Add-On: U.S. Service Academy

Who is this for?  PTCCS supports students who are interested in applying to any of the five United States Service Academies:  The U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD, the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, CO, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy at New London, CT and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY.  PTCCS guides students individually through the nomination process (Congressional, Presidential, Vice Presidential and other affiliated nominations) including the application, interview and other protocol unique to the U.S. Service Academies.  PTCCS researches the Academies’ admissions calendars and guidelines and updates our materials with changes.  We support students in applying to the Academies’ competitive “Summer Seminar” programs and their alternative Prep Schools.

Client Deliverables Include:

  • Individual evaluation of U.S. Service Academy potential including:

    • Eligibility

    • Academic Preparedness

    • Leadership Potential

    • Physical Preparation

  • Guidance and support and evaluation of all aspects of Service Academy admission:

    • Summer Seminar

    • Admissions Application

    • Nomination Request Letter

    • Letters of Recommendation

    • One Nomination Essay

    • Nomination interview practice and feedback

  • Development of one specialized application essay.

  • Advocacy with Admissions Officers including email, phone, and personal visit contact.

  • Extra-curricular placement and support.

  • Consideration of Service Academy Prep Schools.

Program Length: Up to 8 hours of service over a 6-9-month period from the date of the Initial Consultation meeting.

Optimal Start Time: Fall/Winter Junior Year.
