High School Coaching: Checkup Consultation

Who is this for?  The High School Checkup is designed to serve high school students who have completed the Initial Consultation and/or the APRP. The Check-up monitors and directs a student’s high school academic choices, extra-curricular activities, athletics, leadership and community services. The program affords consistent assessment and modification of the student’s college prep plan.


Up to 2 Hours. Client Deliverables generally include:

  • Meeting with student and parent(s) to monitor and evaluate the current status of the Professional Tutoring High School Coaching Service Student Plan.

  • Analysis of student’s current transcript and board scores (PSAT, SAT, ACT, SOL, State Exams).

  • Course planning review, including course rigor (Honors, IB, AP).

  • PSAT, SAT, ACT planning.

  • Evaluation of the student’s progress in academics, extracurricular activities, athletics, community service, leadership and honors, and awards.

  • Consideration of academic, activity, leadership and service cohesion in the Student Resume.

  • Recommendations for Student Resume updates and strengthening.

  • Review and editing of the Student Resume (if applicable).

  • Review and updating of college list.

  • Review and tutorial of the college admissions process.

  • Calculation of college admissions probability.

  • Merit scholarship consideration.

  • Updating of established timeline and academic plan.

  • College visit planning.


Advantages:  The Checkup provides a continuation of the services begun in the High School Coaching Service. As the student matures and changes direction, Professional Tutoring staff will guide him/her through the many decisions which affect both the high school experience and the college admissions process.


Program Length:               Up to 2 hours on the date of the Checkup Consultation meeting.


Optimal Start Time:          7th grade to first-semester 11th grade.


Cost:                                     $500 (supplement to Initial Consultation and Academic Planning and Resume Program).
