Program Support Specialist

Part-time:       Approximately 20 hours/week, full-time possible


Professional Tutoring LLC is an established small business that has been providing tutoring, academic coaching, SAT preparation, and college coaching to students and families in Northern Virginia since 1994.  The Professional Tutoring LLC team is comprised of hard-working professionals who have a passion for their work and want to see students become their most successful selves.


Professional Tutoring LLC is seeking a part-time Program Support Specialist (editor/writer/tutor) to join our team.  The Program Support Specialist will support the SAT/ACT Preparation and College Coaching programs, as well as assist with special projects.  This position is well-suited to a detail-oriented critical thinker who is a life-long learner, adaptable, and eager to work with students and families in a vibrant, energetic environment.  Integrity, interest in education, and commitment to client satisfaction are essential.

  • Support SAT/ACT Preparation and College Coaching programs.

  • Support client interactions, including training seminars, college workshops, and tutoring.

  • Conduct SAT/ACT test administration and computer-based test scoring.

  • Review and score SAT/ACT Essays with rubric.

  • Provide curriculum support.

  • Conduct research.

  • Update database and maintain detailed spreadsheets.

  • Prepare correspondence.

  • Assist with classroom instruction, tutoring, special projects, and presentations.

  • Support students and families in program execution. 



  • Bachelor’s Degree (experience in education/academic environment a plus).

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Writing, editing, and proofreading experience.

  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Flexible, self-motivated, and efficient.

  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in an active environment.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
